House of Hounds Retreat offers kennel-free doggy day care in Kings County, conveniently located in Aylesford, for dogs who do best in a calm, structured, and closely supervised environment.
Our day care is intentionally small-group and thoughtfully managed. Dogs are not simply “let loose” — they are guided, supervised, and supported throughout the day to ensure safe play, healthy socialization, and plenty of time to rest and reset.

Kennel-Free Boarding

House of Hounds Retreat offers dog boarding in Kings County for dogs who need more than a traditional kennel stay. Boarding here is designed to feel calm, familiar, and secure—especially for dogs who don’t do well with crates or overnight confinement.
Dogs staying overnight are never left alone in a warehouse or confined to cages. Instead, they remain in a supervised, comfortable environment where rest, routine, and reassurance are prioritized.

For boarding stays longer than two nights, a $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure the reservation.

Spa Day Before Go-Home
For boarding guests, we now offer a bath, brush, and blow dry on the day of pick-up, so your dog goes home clean, fresh, and relaxed.

A Typical Day at House of Hounds Retreat
Structure and routine help dogs feel safe, relaxed, and confident. While every dog is different, most days at House of Hounds Retreat follow a familiar rhythm designed to balance play, rest, and calm interaction.
Note for Boarding Guests
Boarding dogs follow the same daytime routine, with additional quiet time, evening relaxation, and overnight supervision to help them feel comfortable and secure.
7:00 – 9:00 a.m.
Morning Drop-Off
Dogs arrive and settle in, easing into the day at their own pace.
7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Morning Outdoor Play
Weather permitting, dogs enjoy supervised outdoor play in a large, fenced-in yard.
12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Midday Rest & Reset
After an active morning, dogs come indoors for rest and downtime. This quiet period helps them recharge and prevents overtired behavior. A healthy fruit or veggie snack is offered during this time.
2:00 – 5:30 p.m.
Afternoon Outdoor Time
Dogs head back outside for another supervised play session, with plenty of opportunities to move, explore, or relax as needed.
By 6:00 p.m.
Pick-Up
Dogs head home happy, tired, and settled after a full, balanced day.
